I hope everyone's
enjoying the holiday season. I thought I'd better sneak in one
more update before the new year. First off, here's my holiday
card for 2012:

Second is a concept for a
robot head done for an effects demo and based on the Automata comics
by the guys from Penny Arcade:

And last, but certainly
not least, is an entire gallery of 20 pieces I did for the
DaGeDar collectible ball
bearing toy line from Cepia LLC. I set up a little sub-gallery
here:

Six new pieces added to
my gallery.
I'm involved in a
Kickstarter project running for the next 37 days for
Stay Alive - Not Undead, a zombie safety and awareness coloring
and activity book. If that sounds like something you (or your
children I suppose...) might enjoy, please check it out and
contribute. In addition to the coloring book itself, rewards
include T-shirts, stickers, and sketch covers by some amazing
artists.

Thought I'd better get at
least one more update in before the end of 2011. First off, my
Christmas card for this year:

Second, I'm currently
working on illustrations for a new card/die party game called
FrankenDie. There's a
Kickstarter up for the next 10 days to help fund the project if
anyone would like to contribute and pre-order a copy. Here are
a couple of my pieces for the game so far:
And last but not least, I
did a little portrait of Idris Elba as DCI Luther from the BBC
series Luther. It's on Netflix Instant now and definitely
worth checking out:

This week marked the
25th anniversary of the release of Labyrinth, Jim Henson’s classic fantasy movie.
Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal had a huge impact on me as a kid and
still influence a lot of the fantasy pieces I do. I decided to
celebrate with pencil sketches of Hoggle and Ludo.

Spring is (finally) in
the air. I took a break from freelancing this past month and
managed to squeeze in some fan art.

I
picked up Portal 2 last weekend and it's fantastic. I finished
up the single player game and this weekend a friend is coming over
to run through the two player co-op with me. The coloring
style
is an homage to the Lab Rat comic that Valve put out to bridge the
story between the two games.

I've
been a big fan of the James bond novels/movies since I discovered my
dad's collection of the novels back in junior high. If I
hadn't been an artist, I probably would have been a secret agent.
I did
three sketches of some of my favorite Bond actors: Daniel Craig,
Sean Connery, and Pierce Brosnan. |

Two more concepts for
Lazarus: The Missing Memory by
Rampant
Studios. The King's hulking guards and the King himself:
I also
did a little fan art piece to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the
release of Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. in Japan.

I'm working on some
character concept pieces for Lazarus: The Missing Memory by
Rampant
Studios, a game design studio out of the UK. This first
batch includes Lazarus, the game's evil wizard protagonist and Glupy,
his lackey/sidekick:
Look for more concepts
coming soon.
Wolfgang Baur over at
Kobold
Quarterly used my cover artwork for issue #1 of the magazine to
create a "life size" cardboard cutout for the GenCon game
convention.
Click here to check out pictures of con attendees hanging out with
Jiro the kobold.
Also, congratulations to
KQ for winning the ENnie for Best Gaming Blog!

Hello,
and welcome to my newly renovated site. It had been a while and I
figured it was time for a change. My latest work can always be
found in my deviantART
gallery.
Summer is
flying by! I've put over 2,000 km on my bike so far this year.
I'm hoping to get at least another 1,500 in before winter hits
(fingers crossed).
